Here is follow up is the transvest of an interview with Sen. Rand Paul, Republicican Kentucky, whose air of “fries the nation with Margaret Brennan” U 1st June, 2025.
Margaret Brennan: Go to the Senator Republic Ravan, who gives you from Lexington, Kentucky this morning. Good morning to you.
Sen. Paul rand, good morning, Margaret.
Margaret Brennan: You have just heard the treasure secretary by telling lots of things, increase the price potential that might come from fees when it comes to retailers. He also played the cost of this fiscal and bello rifle that is right past for home. Agree with his math?
Sen. Paul: Well, maths don’t really add you. One of the things that you are beautiful and beautiful beautiful is a vehicle for the raising of the army and border. It’s about $ 320 billion in new expense. Put that in perspective, it’s more than all the chopped dogs we found so far. So the increase in expense puts in this project exceeds dogged cuts. When you look right at the border wall, have 46.5 billion for the border wall. Well, the current estimate from the CBP is 6.5 million for a thousand. So if you did 1,000 miles, it’s 6.5 billion, but have 46 billion. So they inflated the cost of the wall eight bend. So there’s a lot of new expense that should be countered. But essentially, it is a bill from complex military added to the military budget. There will be a lot of extra money. Look, the President has been essentially the flow of boundless with no new money and no legislation. So I think they ask too much money. And in the end, the way you add to see if it really saves money or add money, it’s how much debt they go to borrow? 5 trillion on two years, a huge amount.
Margaret Brennan: Right. That – this was the number that the secretary has been dumped. The President took note of your sciticism, and Grade the Tweet Iery donate if you, VOTE VOTE, VOTE CONTRAGE THE FUND OF KENTUCKY NEVER FORGET YOU. You think a threat, and you know if you have three other republicans who join you block from the passage?
Sen. Paul: I had a good conversation with President this week on fees. Made most of the talking, and we do not concur exactly from the result. But when I came home to Kentucky, I speak with the Bureau Farm, which is opportunate to the fees. I talked to the bourbone industry that is opposite the fees. I talked to the charge companies, UPS, DHL, all their pilots are opportunated by him. I’ve talked to the pavement of the hard. I talked to the people selling houses, build houses. I have no organized business interpreted in Kentucky for fees. So I think it’s worth discussing, and it is worth that people remembers that Republicans have been for lower taxes. The fees are a tax. So you are set on the private sector, it’s not good for the private sector.
Margaret Brennan: Well I know, we are, we are of other senatus that also make complaints by their people in their districts, but in fall. Do you have three other republicans who will be with you to block this project?
Sen. Paul: I think are four of us at this point, and you are very surprised, if the false, at least, it is not in a good direction. Look, I want to vote for her. Are for tax cuts. I voted for tax cuts first. I want tax cuts are permanent, but at the same time, I don’t want to lift the roof of debt 5 trillion. So I say that if you take the faith the Ubice off the Bill, throughout the bill of the poop is in the rest of the rest. But I can’t be- if you vote the $ 5 trillion debt, which is left in Washington that cares about debt. We will have lost. The GOP will debt once they vote for it.
Margaret Brennan: But the one head, as you know, it’s a treat in a tight place here. Needs a vehicle to raise this debt roof. Otherwise you will get back to the Democrats to have done that. What was the white household response when you asked for the President?
Sen. Paul: well, historically, the debt is always gone, and you still not, and it is not proposed that you are not that voting that vote that votes that votes that vows for the scream. Historically, all of the voted democrats of growing the roof of the debit, and about 15 large real government’s reality of government for it. This will be the first time that is voted only by the Republicans. This will be the first time republicans sit the debt. They have already owned the expense. In March, we have continued, not me, but most rusts imputed to continue expendent levels offite. So remember the countryside, all talk to rednoxomy and inflation and spending the levels of bidding. Well they are transpinance all votes are voted to watch offer sharps, and this is for what deficit this year will be $ 22 trilion this year.
Margaret Brennan: So, think this is bad post office for the republic. Some of your Republican colleges, like Josh Hawley, they say medicaid changes are the political people for the people of America’s work and for your party.
Sen. Paul: I thought it was a bad strategy. I think tax cuts are good for the economy. When we have past the tax cuts in 2017 Economium grew up to Gangbusters. We had lower unemployment historically. Been the large achievement of the first trump administration. They should be satisfied just make the tax part of it and not involved in the debt part.
Margaret Brennan: The last time you are with us in March, you talked about the conversations you had with Elon Musk, as you know, just let her work. You have proposed a rescheduling request, a claw behind approximately $ 500 billion money congress was already signed. We now know that the White House has to ask cubromanatus this senate for a reclaim. Sounds like it’s just $ 9.4 billion and it is PBS, it’s NPR and it’s foreign help. Is this really the best strategy? And you think 51 Republicans are on board with it?
Sen. Paul: First of all, voting for the shields of the shipping. The most the best. This is very much, very small to put it in Picks, if the deficit this year is 2.2 Trillionaire, if you cut 9, deficit to be 2.191 trillion. Has actually changed country material. We should do it for all means. And is the low-sudden fruit. What’s the one that has been signaled to be passed for the sexual change in Guatemala, Trans-operates in Columbia, all stiil Yes, must be cut–
Margaret Brennan: – Sesamo Road .–
Sen. Paul: – I had a modified about a month- sorry–
Margaret Brennan: It’s the way of sesame. Is PBS and NPR.
Sen. Paul: Yes. And I think, yes- you are well. We’ll see if there is the votes to cut it. I don’t necessarily need to need the government programming. We have so many choices on the Internet and many choices on television, but my preference has always been, in the past, to cut a little of something. So what I did in the past is offers Penny’s plan budget where we cut a certain percentage of everything but includes attracted, or doesn’t really work. Once you exclude the attractive, there is no enough money to cut you can never get the balance to not keep competition.
Margaret Brennan: The Budget Manufacturer of Olon Side I don’t need to use this RESIBRICION, Wives with a White House has other tools. Do you think they need to spend Congress? Is this overseas?
Sen. Paul: And good, absolutely must use a recks- rebernation, and it is remained by the simple majority, by, given only. There is no filibuster. So it’s a great deal to cut the spending. If they do not use it will be a great purposeful opportunity. But I’ll tell you, they tried to the first Trump administration. I wasn’t his fault. They sent a tiny, 16 billion, and failed because two republicans went to the other. So we’ll see what happens on it. But if we can’t cut the welfare that we see in other countries, if we cannot cut the welfare of foreign help, I feel bad for the country. You know, tax rates are in growth. We have trouble selling our debt. We have a lot of trouble.
Margaret Brennan: Senator Rog, we’ll be on the right.
